Engineering Manager

Job Description

Caylent is seeking an Engineering Manager to join their Cloud Architecture & Engineering practice. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing a team of 5-8 cloud engineers and architects, overseeing delivery engagements, and driving the business forward.Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of 5-8 cloud engineers and architects.
• Define and communicate the value of technical solutions.
• Take on hands-on technical responsibilities during sprints.
• Lead technical discussions with customers and guide solution direction.
• Handle code reviews and pull request management.
• Manage task assignments within sprints and ensure timely delivery.
• Provide guidance on roadmap planning, best practices, and risk identification.
• Mentor team members, sharing feedback and supporting growth opportunities.
• Serve as the point of technical escalation for client engagements.
• Kick off new projects and ensure alignment between technical delivery and business goals.
• Support pre-sales through proposal development, contract review, and client presentations.
• Conduct technical interviews for Architect and Engineer candidates.
• Perform 1:1s and support the career growth of direct reports.
• Navigate customer and team challenges with strong conflict resolution and leadership skills.

Requirements:

• Deep experience in hands-on technical roles and working with AWS.
• Proven experience managing and mentoring technical teams.
• Naturally curious and committed to continuous learning.
• Experience with Migrations, CI/CD, IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Pulumi), Scripting, Containers (Kubernetes, Docker, ECS, Fargate), Cloud security best practices, Networking, Incident, release, problem, and change management processes.
• Experience working in client-facing and Agile project environments.
• Background in consultancy or advisory roles.
