Job Description
Kroll Bond Rating Agency (KBRA) is seeking a Director to join their Funds Ratings team in Chicago. This role involves assigning and monitoring credit ratings on debt instruments issued by funds. The Director will evaluate financing instruments supporting fund operations, liquidity, and capital structures. KBRA's portfolio includes funds leveraging various investment strategies like fixed income, private equity, and real estate.
Role Involves:
- Leading new issuance rating processes.
- Interacting with issuers and conducting due diligence.
- Preparing rating memos and reports.
- Leading ongoing monitoring and surveillance.
- Developing and maintaining spreadsheets and databases.
- Collaborating with KBRA experts across sectors.
- Supervising and mentoring junior team members.
- Developing analytical tools.
- Representing KBRA at industry events.
- Assisting with credit research and publications.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Math, or related field.
- Eight or more years of experience in fund finance, investing, or structured finance.
- Experience with investment strategies in private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure, and asset-based lending.
- Understanding of subscription lines, NAV financing, and other fund finance products.
- Experience reviewing legal documents.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- CFA or interest in obtaining CFA is a plus.
- Ability to manage time and resources.
- Familiarity with Generative AI tools is a plus.
