Junior Equities Trader

Job Description

Schonfeld is seeking a Junior Trader to join its fundamental equities trading team in New York. The ideal candidate will have a passion for trading and a solid understanding of the equities trading market. This role involves collaborating with Traders, Portfolio Managers, and other teams to support trading execution activities.

Role Involves:

• Executing equity order flow using high and low touch execution channels and the execution management system.
• Contributing to best practice execution on trades and ensuring the desk provides best execution service to Portfolio Managers.
• Collaborating with Traders/Portfolio Managers to discuss positions, flows, and market dynamics.
• Extracting market color and flow information from trading counterparties and other sources.
• Liaising with the Front Office Technology group on process and workflow improvements.
• Contributing to and helping manage counterparty relationships and commission schedules.

Requirements:

• Academic credentials in finance, economics, or a related field.
• Some knowledge of equities markets.
• Understanding of general market protocol and etiquette, equity pricing, and positioning.
• Fluency with trading technology, execution management systems, and order management systems.
• Commitment to ethical and professional standards.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Experience with Bloomberg.
