Senior Software Engineer I, Private Equity

Job Description

Carta is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Private Equity Portfolio Companies team. The engineer will play a critical role in shaping the next generation of ownership management products, working closely with product, design, and go-to-market teams, as well as directly with top-tier Private Equity firms and enterprise-scale clients. This role involves understanding client needs and delivering high-quality technical solutions.Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, and build highly available, secure, and scalable financial platforms
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align requirements and translate them into user-driven features
• Model the complexity of LLC structures and asset classes into flexible and extensible system designs
• Follow test-driven development (TDD) practices to ensure high quality and reliability
• Provide technical leadership through thoughtful code reviews and design discussions

Requirements:

• 5+ years of full-stack or backend engineering experience
• Passion for elements of the tech stack (ReactJS, Java, Datadog, REST / GRPC, Kafka, K8s, AWS)
• Excitement to work with stakeholders across engineering, product, business, and marketing
• Desire to become a product domain expert and refine ambiguous product requirements to deliver customer value
• Strong communication skills
• Desire to build and own work end-to-end
• Eagerness to move fast and build for the future
