Archer Aviation, an aerospace company focused on electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, is seeking an Engineering Technician - EWIS in San Jose, California. This role involves supporting the assembly, integration, and testing of Electrical Wiring and Interconnect Systems (EWIS) for Archer's eVTOL aircraft. What this role involves: - Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics.
- Building and routing wiring harnesses.
- Setting up and maintaining specialized tooling.
- Conducting continuity checks and data acquisition testing.
- Troubleshooting electrical wiring issues.
- Collaborating with manufacturing engineers and design teams.
- Maintaining accurate documentation.
What you need: - Minimum 5+ years of experience in the aerospace and/or automotive industry as an engineering technician.
- Associate’s degree or certification in a field of engineering technology (4+ years of experience can substitute for education requirements).
- Experience with wire harness fabrication, high-voltage wiring, batteries, and electric motor controllers.
- Proficiency in standard aerospace wiring practices.
- Knowledge of aircraft safety procedures and industry regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and FAA guidelines.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and work in confined spaces.
What Archer offers: - A base pay between $39.00/hr - $49.00/hr.
