Head of Engineering

Job Description

Studapart is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead its Engineering team and drive the future development of the product, in conjunction with the Product Team. This role involves ensuring the quality and scalability of the services that power the product. The Head of Engineering will be expected to be technical, with a strong technical background, and will focus on setting the right technical direction rather than heavy hands-on work. The role is divided into four key areas: Delivery, Direction, Talent, and Culture.

• Set team for success to deliver on the roadmap effectively and in time.
• Assist team in developing and play an active role in the development cycle
• Ensure projects assigned to them are correctly scoped, planned and delivered in time through delegation.
• Ensure work delivered by your team is up to our engineering standards, and guide less senior team members to unblock themselves when struggling.
• Talk to stakeholders and proactively keep them informed about the status and impediments of projects.

Requirements:

• Fluency in French and excellent English communication skills
• Strong background in software development, architecture, and system design
• Strong problem-solving skills and a data-driven approach
• 6+ years of experience in managing Engineering teams
• 7+ years as a Full Stack developer
• Proficiency in Symfony 6 and an advanced JS framework (ReactJs, Vue.js, etc.)
• Knowledge of test frameworks (PHPunit, Behat, Cypress, etc.)
• Good knowledge of DevOps issues
• Excellent interpersonal skills
