Software Engineer - Quality Automation and Engineering Enablement

Job Description

SimpliSafe is seeking a Software Engineer to join their Quality Automation and Engineering Enablement team. This role is based in Boston, MA, and operates on a hybrid work model, requiring in-office presence on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The Software Engineer will be responsible for leading strategic quality initiatives and contributing to hands-on backend software development. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of complex systems and thrive in cross-functional environments.

Responsibilities:

• Lead shift-left testing strategy.
• Deliver qualitative and quantitative feedback.
• Contribute to product and technical design reviews.
• Design and implement integrated software solutions.
• Demonstrate debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Lead cross-functional efforts with Product and Engineering.
• Mentor and coach team members in best practices for quality engineering.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with functional and non-functional testing.
• Expert in at least one programming language (e.g., TypeScript, Java, Python).
• Experience building and maintaining automation infrastructure.
• Experience with load and performance testing methodologies.
• Experience working with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Workflows, GoCD).
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies.
• Understanding of network protocols and experience with security testing practices.
