Staff Software Development Engineer - Data Path Team

Job Description

Zscaler is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to join its Cloud Browser Isolation/ Data Path Team. The engineer will report to the Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering, and will be responsible for owning the definition, design, implementation, testing, delivery, monitoring, and reliability of multiple core components to ensure optimal browser streaming experiences for customers. The engineer will collaborate with stakeholders to analyze requirements and develop scalable, secure, and extensible technical solutions for cloud applications. They will also write high-quality, testable, maintainable, and secure code, while integrating appropriate tests into CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployments. The role involves fostering team growth through mentoring and knowledge sharing, maintaining a focus on continuous learning and improvement, and taking full ownership of deployed services, including on-call responsibilities, to ensure reliability and minimize production incidents.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
• 3+ years of experience developing applications for Linux and cloud-based, high-traffic systems.
• Strong coding skills in C++.
• In-depth knowledge of RESTful APIs and the HTTP protocol.
• Strong grasp of system design principles and microservice-based architectures.
