Job Description
OpenEye is seeking a Sales Engineer to support their California Region. This role involves being a key technical contact for customers, explaining product specifications, and providing system design and training. The Sales Engineer will work with the sales organization to deliver presentations, assess customer needs, and develop training courses. They will also provide customer feedback to product management and engineering.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and delivering sales and project-specific presentations.
- Assessing equipment and customer needs to determine system requirements.
- Developing and presenting training courses for internal and external customers.
- Providing customer feedback to product management, engineering, and development.
- Preparing cost estimates and site configurations.
- Analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment and software.
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge.
- Identifying short and long-term strategies to address market changes.
- Investigating customer and product issues and recommending solutions.
- Creating technical content for advertising campaigns and the website.
- Supporting project installations remotely or on-site.
- Providing post-visit summaries and entering information in CRM.
- Communicating troubleshooting discoveries to the support department.
Requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum 2-4 years of engineering / Technical Support experience.
- 3 years of “Business to Business” support experience.
- Ability to travel 50-75%.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office core products.
- Understanding of networking, IP video compression, security surveillance, and access control.
