Job Description
LA28 is seeking a Manager, Venue Security (Planning & Operations) to play a crucial role in designing, planning, and integrating venue security for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills who can work collaboratively with multiple functional areas, government and public safety agencies, and a unique set of stakeholders.
The Venue Security Manager will report to the Director, Venue Security and will be responsible for:
- Developing venue-based security plans in collaboration with various teams and agencies.
- Coordinating with internal teams and external partners to create unified security plans.
- Developing and integrating plans for Pre-Games Test Events with key stakeholders.
- Serving as the main point of contact for the Safety & Security Department.
- Contributing to risk and Venue assessments to identify vulnerabilities.
- Ensuring adherence to all regulations and best practices for event security.
- Overseeing the Security Operation Plan at assigned Venues.
- Overseeing private security partners during the pre-Games period.
- Completing incident reports and daily status reports.
- Acting as the primary liaison between LA28 Functional Areas, assigned Public Safety and Security Agencies, and the Safety and Security Department.
- Chairing planning meetings or working groups to ensure timely delivery of milestones.
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a fast-paced, venue safety/security position.
- Experience in cross functional security planning and collaboration.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- High level of discretion and professionalism.
- Bachelor’s degree in Security/Law Enforcement, Emergency Management, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
