Job Description
Talkdesk is seeking a Director of R&D Finance to support their Engineering team. This role involves partnering with the VP of Finance and Engineering leadership to build budgets, manage forecasts, and provide financial analyses for strategic investments. The Director will provide guidance on financial and operational matters across the organization and report directly to the VP of Finance. The ideal candidate will have experience working with fast-growing engineering organizations and a SaaS business model.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Engineering leadership to provide financial modeling assistance.
- Develop understanding of Engineering related issues and priorities.
- Bring insights from industry knowledge to influence business leadership.
- Own financial forecasts, annual operating plan, budget tracking, and long-range plan.
- Track and report KPIs against strategic Cloud Hosting agreements.
- Run strategic projects to drive efficiencies and accountability.
- Provide strategic input for business decisions through complex financial models.
- Develop and implement strategies to attract and maintain a skilled workforce.
Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or similar quantitative discipline.
- 8+ years in FP&A experience with 2+ years supporting cloud infrastructure and cost analysis.
- 5+ years of people management experience.
- Experience working with AWS or GCP cloud products.
- Strong understanding of financial statements.
- Experience with planning and forecasting, large data sets, and sophisticated models.
- Strategic thinker with leadership, vision, and insight.
- Strong work ethic and ability to deliver results in tight timelines.
- Experience partnering with stakeholders across the organization.
- Experience with financial systems like NetSuite, Salesforce, and Adaptive Insights is a plus.
