Configuration Engineer - Remote

Job Description

Altera, a member of the N. Harris Computer Corporation family, is seeking a Configuration Engineer to manage and maintain configuration settings for their software and systems. The Configuration Engineer will ensure configurations align with quality standards and meet organizational requirements. They will collaborate with development, testing, and operations teams to implement best practices for configuration management and automate processes.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing, implementing, and maintaining configuration management practices and tools.
• Overseeing version control processes.
• Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation.
• Collaborating with software engineering, QA, and operations teams.
• Identifying opportunities to automate configuration processes.
• Ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
• Troubleshooting configuration-related issues.
• Providing training and support to staff.

Requirements include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in configuration management, DevOps, or related roles.
• Experience with configuration management tools and version control systems (e.g., Azure, DevOps, Git, SVN).
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
