Ernest Packaging Solutions is seeking a Merchandiser to join their team in Sacramento, CA. This is a full-time, on-site position where the candidate will play a vital role in ensuring customers receive quality solutions, competitive pricing, and exceptional service. The Merchandiser will be responsible for building vendor relationships, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and managing product lines.

What this role involves:
  • Sourcing and evaluating new products.
  • Building and maintaining vendor relationships.
  • Monitoring market conditions and price fluctuations.
  • Managing inventory across Stock and Just-in-Time (JIT) categories.
  • Establishing target selling prices.
  • Maintaining accurate data in SAP (or ERP platform).
  • Collaborating with internal teams.
  • Processing merchandise control requests.
  • Keeping clear records of supplier information.
  • Providing insights to improve departmental systems.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of purchasing or procurement experience.
  • Experience negotiating with vendors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Clear communication skills.
