Senior Software Engineer (Experimentation Platform)

Job Description

Affirm is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Experimentation Platform (AXP) team. This role is focused on empowering Affirm to make data-driven decisions and enable safe rollouts through Feature Flags and controlled Experiments. The AXP team builds the APIs, systems, and workflows that allow engineers to target, ramp, and measure changes.Responsibilities:

• Owning and delivering quarterly goals for the team.
• Leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems.
• Collaborating with product management, design & analytics.
• Identifying and solving project, process, technology, or business issues.
• Supporting the operations and availability of team artifacts.
• Fostering a culture of quality and ownership.
• Developing talent on the team through feedback and guidance.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin.
• Track record of developing highly available distributed systems using technologies like AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Experience defining a technical plan for the delivery of a significant feature or system component.
• Proficiency in making significant changes in a large code base.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
