Job Description
Airbyte, the open-source standard for Data Movement, is seeking a Director of Solutions Engineering to join its sales team. This role reports to the Head of Sales and will be part of the founding management team, influencing the company's GTM strategy.Airbyte is committed to providing context to its employees and candidates, with an open company handbook.Role Involves:
  • Leading and scaling the Sales Engineering (SE) team.
  • Hiring, mentoring, and empowering SEs.
  • Managing and driving the technical win to reach team targets.
  • Collaborating with various teams to refine technical presentations and demos.
  • Influencing strategic account plans for larger clients.
  • Providing feedback to product and engineering teams.
  • Participating in team and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Promoting products and solutions at conferences and seminars.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years leading pre-sales and post-sales teams at high-growth SaaS companies.
  • Technical background in data or infrastructure tech.
  • Understanding of technical personas and their decision-making processes.
  • Experience supporting multiple customer segments.
  • History of overachievement of quota.
  • Natural curiosity and problem-solving skills.
  • Success working with Fortune 1000 customers.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence technical decision-makers.
  • 4-year technical degree in engineering or equivalent.
