Job Description
Upgrade, a fintech company, is seeking a Legal Intern to support their legal team in San Francisco. This role offers exposure to various practice areas and products within a growing fintech environment. The Legal Intern will be based on-site in the SF office during the 2025/2026 academic year, with a hybrid work schedule of Tuesdays and Thursdays in the office.
Role involves:
- Conducting legal research on consumer credit, checking, and deposit products.
- Supporting the commercial contracting process.
- Working closely with attorneys and contract managers.
- Reviewing data protection law updates.
- Assisting with routine requests and contract lifecycle management.
- Providing general and administrative support for legal department projects.
Requirements:
- Must be a second-year or third-year law student at an accredited US law school for the 2025/2026 academic year.
- Strong law school academic performance with demonstrated legal research skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products, project management software, and/or contract lifecycle management (CLM) software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Eagerness to learn about the fintech industry and in-house commercial legal practice.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, take ownership of tasks, and meet deadlines.
