The Student Hotel in Amsterdam is seeking a General Manager Intern to join their dynamic team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in hotel management within a fun, creative, and inspiring environment. The intern will work closely with the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and the Connector, forming an integral part of the management team.

The intern will be responsible for various aspects of the hotel's operation, going beyond traditional reception duties. They will act as a connector and networker, ensuring the smooth running of the hotel. The intern will also lead, coach, and train the Hotel Team in The Student Hotel's unique style, as well as manage external partners responsible for housekeeping, night team operations, and maintenance.

What this role involves:

  • Daily managing, training, coaching, and motivating employees and partners.
  • Handling guest and colleague inquiries, remarks, and complaints.
  • Introducing, maintaining, and evolving standard operating procedures.
  • Networking with the guest community and building relationships with universities, companies, and social organizations.
  • Maintaining and controlling hotel security.
  • Supporting the operational preparation and execution of student arrivals and departures.

Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in an EU school or university.
  • Bachelor student, preferably in hotel- or tourism management with hospitality or team leading experience.
  • Flexible, hands-on, motivated, and positive approach.
  • Background in hospitality, preferably in a hotel environment.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Legally allowed to work in the Netherlands.
