Engineering Manager, Developer Platform

Job Description

Airtable is seeking an Engineering Manager for its Developer Platform team. This role is based in either San Francisco, CA, or New York City, NY. The Engineering Manager will lead a team of platform engineers focused on scaling internal systems and improving developer experience.Responsibilities:

• Mentor and grow a team of senior/staff engineers.
• Conduct performance reviews and create career development plans.
• Set the vision and roadmap for the developer platform.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and best practices.
• Oversee the design and evolution of build and release pipelines.
• Drive initiatives to automate workflows and optimize systems.
• Partner with product, infrastructure, and security teams.
• Communicate technical strategies to technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on developer platforms, CI/CD pipelines, or cloud infrastructures.
• 2+ years managing high-performing engineering teams.
• Familiarity with modern DevOps toolchains (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Capable of setting long-term technical strategies.
• Skilled at building trust across teams.
• Comfortable using metrics to inform decision-making.
