Job Description
CoLab is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of Software Developers focused on integrations with engineering data management solutions. The Engineering Manager will collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Application Security Specialists, Technical Customer Support, and Leadership to deliver new features, extend existing functionality, and address application issues. This role is crucial for scaling the team, ensuring quality software delivery, and balancing short-term goals with long-term technical sustainability.
Responsibilities: - Recruit, onboard, and retain top engineering talent.
- Foster a positive team culture aligned with company values.
- Align engineering efforts with company strategic objectives.
- Own the delivery of high-quality software on schedule.
- Ensure code quality, testing practices, and deployment pipelines meet company standards.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate career development plans.
- Work closely with customer success teams to understand user feedback.
- Establish and refine engineering processes.
- Track key engineering metrics and report progress to senior leadership.
- Ensure adequate technical and process documentation.
Requirements: - Strong engineering background with 5–8+ years of hands-on experience.
- 2–3 years in a leadership or management role.
- Experience building scalable production web-applications and integrations.
- Ability to balance customer needs with technical feasibility.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Proven success in hiring, onboarding, and mentoring engineers.
- Ability to set clear expectations and provide feedback.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
