Airtable is seeking an Engineering Manager, Storage to lead a high-performing team. The team is responsible for designing, building, and operating scalable storage systems. These systems underpin Airtable's mission-critical business applications. The storage solutions integrate relational databases (e.g., AWS RDS, TiDB, MySQL), non-relational (DynamoDB, Redis), and caching architectures. This ensures data availability, resilience, and performance at petabyte scale. The Engineering Manager will set the technical vision and drive the roadmap for the storage platform. They will also collaborate across diverse functions to foster innovation and continuous improvement.
What this role involves: - Leading, mentoring, and growing a team of senior storage engineers.
- Setting clear goals, conducting performance reviews, and creating development plans.
- Developing and articulating a long-term technical strategy for the storage platform.
- Prioritizing high-impact projects and managing resource allocation.
- Continuously evaluating emerging technologies and best practices.
- Ensuring the integrity, performance, and security of storage systems.

- Working closely with Product teams, infrastructure, and operations teams.
- Acting as a key liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements: - 7+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong background in designing, building, and operating scalable storage systems.
- Hands-on expertise with relational databases such as AWS RDS, DynamoDB, TiDB, and MySQL.
- Experience with non-relational, distributed storage technologies.
- 2+ years of management experience leading technical teams.
