Software Engineer, Product Backend (8+ YOE)

Job Description

Airtable is seeking a Software Engineer, Product Backend, with 8+ years of experience, to join their team in San Francisco, CA. This role involves working on the Airtable platform, which is used by over 500,000 organizations, including 80% of the Fortune 100, to transform their critical business processes. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional partners to create innovative new features, focusing on scalability and performance.

The engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end implementation of new features, contributing to the power and success of Airtable's toolkit. The role is within the Enterprise Product portion of the org, working just above the Infrastructure org.

What this role involves:

• Designing and building systems to increase the scalability and performance of Airtable applications.
• Partnering with product managers, designers, and data scientists to understand user needs.
• Working at the deep backend of the Airtable software stack.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of industry experience with modern systems development, ideally database internals development.
• Interest in programming in TypeScript and Rust.
• Good understanding of modern web technologies and large-scale web application architecture.
• Background in computer science or a related field.
• Currently based and/or will be based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
