Job Description
Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a skilled System Software Engineer to join their PlayStation team in Tokyo. This role focuses on the implementation of subsystem microcontrollers or application processors within the PlayStation system. The engineer will be involved in controlling and communicating with high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, as well as managing device control for HDMI, USB PD, USB-C, Bluetooth, and SerialFlash. They will also handle FAN/temperature control, physical UI elements like LEDs, buttons, and buzzers, and system-wide power management.
  • Implementing software for microcontrollers/application processors on PlayStation systems.
  • Controlling and communicating with high-speed interfaces (PCIe, etc.).
  • Managing device control (HDMI, USB, Bluetooth, etc.).
  • Handling FAN/temperature control and physical UI elements.
  • Managing system-wide power control.
  • Building test environments and maintaining team infrastructure.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of embedded software development experience in C.
  • Experience with control software development using real-time OS, FreeBSD, or Linux.
  • Experience in large-scale software teams.
  • Experience leading design, implementation, and bug fixing in projects with multiple teams.
