Job Description

Pure Storage is seeking a Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer to join their team. In this role, the candidate will understand customer challenges and tailor Pure Storage solutions to meet their needs. They will collaborate with the sales team, acting as a technical expert during the sales process and showcasing the value of Pure Storage products and services.

The role involves:

  • Developing an understanding of customer business drivers and decision-making processes.
  • Connecting technology solutions to measurable customer business outcomes.
  • Partnering with account managers, specialists, and channel partners.
  • Highlighting the advantages of Pure Storage solutions.
  • Providing technical leadership and domain expertise.
  • Managing evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations.
  • Delivering technical product and architecture presentations.
  • Capturing requirements and translating them into innovative solutions.
  • Contributing to responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
  • Promoting mutual roadmap and planning exchanges.
  • Liaising with product and technical marketing.
  • Staying current with the competition.

Requirements:

  • BS in CS, EE, or other technical degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • Pre-sales experience is required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in technology, design, and communications.
  • Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software.
  • Understanding of multi-tiered client/server and web-based computing solutions.
  • Familiarity with modern web architecture.
  • Experience targeting new prospects and converting them into clients.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures.
  • Experience with Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environment.
  • Knowledge of digital transformation to a Cloud Native architecture.
  • Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking.
  • Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, containers, k8s, and microservices architectures.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
