Job Description

Lightspeed is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to join their Montreal team. This role focuses on the company's complex software and hardware revenue streams. The Senior Revenue Accountant will report to the Revenue Accounting Manager and will contribute to improving decision-making processes through the analysis and optimization of operational data. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, detail-oriented, and well-organized.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing software and hardware revenue streams across all LSPD product offerings.
  • Conducting in-depth transaction walkthroughs for each revenue stream.
  • Maintaining and building complex workbooks reconciled with financial statements.
  • Analyzing trends and explaining variances to management.
  • Implementing controls and quality checks to ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Leading data quality analyses and system performance evaluations.
  • Leading projects and solving complex problems as the company adapts its strategic direction.
  • Evaluating data quality in information systems and proposing improvements.
  • Executing audit-related tasks and participating in analytical and accounting activities.
  • Analyzing revenue related to bundled offers and discount allocation.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess financial impact and reporting accuracy.
  • Contributing to the training and mentoring of junior team members.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of audit experience.
  • Successful completion of the Common Final Examination (CFE) and CPA designation.
  • Extensive experience with MS Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • In-depth conceptual and practical knowledge of IFRS 15 and accounting standards.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written).
  • Experience mentoring junior staff.
