Job Description
Lightspeed is seeking a Financial Controller, APAC to oversee and manage the accounting team responsible for APAC operations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, coaching experience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.Responsibilities:
  • Oversee month-end close procedures and deliver timely internal financial reports.
  • Lead, coach, inspire, and manage an accounting team overseeing APAC operations.
  • Manage, review, and complete various accounting analyses.
  • Accountable for timely execution of annual statutory audits.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of RDTI and Callaghan Innovation grant applications.
  • Ensure compliance with all local tax obligations including BAS, GST, and support corporate tax filings.
  • Ensure timely submission of statutory surveys and government reporting requirements.
  • Utilize advanced analytical skills to interpret financial data and provide strategic insights.
  • Ensure standardization of processes and methodologies across various legal entities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and systems.
  • Oversee accounting policy updates/changes and communicate the impact of such changes to their team.
  • Collaborate with other finance teams on various special projects.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual internal controls to ensure compliance with SOX.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and projects to align accounting objectives with overall business goals.
Requirements:
  • CPA designation required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a similar position or audit Manager level.
  • Experience with IFRS-compliant reporting in Australia and/or New Zealand.
  • Experience with Australian and New Zealand payroll processes.
  • Proven experience in supervising and coaching a team.
  • Strong leadership and adaptability skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Self-motivated, directed, and starter individual, with strong professional skills.
  • Experience with Netsuite, SOX, and working in a publicly listed company or in SaaS, would be advantageous.
