Job Description
dbt Labs is seeking a Staff Customer Resident Architect to provide technical guidance to strategic accounts. The role involves supporting pre-sales, accelerating adoption, enabling key migrations, and mitigating churn risks. The ideal candidate will deploy RA-level expertise to drive growth, retention, and expansion.
Responsibilities:
- Support strategic pre-sales opportunities with technical expertise.
- Assist in launching and onboarding new customers to dbt Cloud.
- Execute proactive adoption plays, including migrations and new feature implementations.
- Lead reactive adoption initiatives to de-risk churn and position accounts for growth.
- Advise on architecture, design, implementation, and troubleshooting in dbt Cloud environments.
- Build solution MVPs and guide long-term technical strategies.
- Partner with Customer Solutions Architects (CSAs), Sales, and Support.
- Provide feedback to Product and Engineering to improve customer experience.
- Track and manage capacity and engagement effectiveness.
Requirements:
- 5+ years in technical customer-facing roles.
- Expertise with a modern cloud data platform (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift).
- Hands-on experience with dbt Cloud.
- Strong SQL proficiency; working knowledge of Python.
- Experience leading technical project delivery.
- Clear communication skills.
- Collaborative mindset.
- Willingness to travel 2–4 times per year.
