Job Description
Carta is seeking a Business Development Manager to deepen relationships with key partners and develop new ones within the Private Equity ecosystem. This role will represent Carta as a valuable contributor, driving PE fund penetration. The Business Development Manager will work cross-functionally with various teams to collect feedback from law partners and drive conversations around deepening mutual client penetration with preferred law firms. They will also develop and execute strategies to convert law firms without deep relationships into preferred partners.

Role involves:
  • Creating champions for Carta’s fund administration products.
  • Generating referrals from law firm fund formation partners.
  • Working cross-functionally with Product, Delivery, Engineering, and other teams.
  • Developing and executing strategies to convert law firms into preferred partners.
  • Coordinating with the Sales team to activate mutual books of business with law firms.
  • Leading discovery on additional paths for Carta to add value to law firm partners.
  • Driving non-linear referral motions to increase referrals from law firm partners.
  • Creating awareness of Carta’s fund and investor tools.
  • Representing Carta at industry events.

Requirements:
  • Significant knowledge of Venture Capital/Private Equity funds.
  • Strong familiarity with how law firms support VC and PE funds.
  • Relevant network of contacts within the law firm community.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and networking skills.
  • Deep understanding of SaaS business models.
  • Relevant Business Development/Partnerships experience.
