Job Description
Viator is seeking a Principal Product Manager to enhance their platform. This role focuses on developing and managing the operator integration product, facilitating connectivity between Viator and reservation systems. The Principal Product Manager will define product strategy, develop roadmaps, and manage product lifecycles.Viator is the world’s largest provider of tours, activities and experiences. Responsibilities: - Spearhead the creation and implementation of the product vision and strategy for our operator integrations platform.
- Construct new features or enhance existing products to propel the business forward.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and product leadership to develop business investment cases for your product.
- Oversee key initiatives across a core area of the Viator platform, including pricing, booking management, logistics, and inventory management.
- Define and monitor key success metrics and KPIs, and track ongoing product performance, taking corrective action as needed.
- Establish and manage the product roadmap, prioritizing deliverables and activities for the team to optimize business goals.
- Collect and analyze feedback from operators, reservation systems, and internal stakeholders to pinpoint areas for improvement.
- Partner with engineering, design, marketing, and operations teams to deliver superior, innovative solutions.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive forces, and emerging technologies related to APIs, integrations, and travel.
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 7+ years experience in product management, with a focus on API products and integrations
- Proven ability to collaborate with engineering teams to develop large-scale API systems and frameworks, with a deep understanding of API technologies and technical governance (standards, compatibility, lifecycle management, monitoring)
- Ability to engage in highly technical discussions and challenge engineering and other teams when necessary; ability to drive consensus and commitment even when there is disagreement
- Experience decomposing and sequencing the implementation of complex platform solutions into distinct milestones to demonstrate rapid value creation
- Experience measuring the impact of platform work, identifying suboptimal decisions, and adapting when necessary
- Strong understanding of API technologies, RESTful services, and data exchange formats (JSON, XML).
- Proven experience in defining product strategy, developing roadmaps, and managing product lifecycles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and external partners.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong ability to identify and resolve complex technical and business challenges.
