Site Reliability Engineer - Core

Blockchain, a leading software platform for digital assets, is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join their Core team in London. This role involves fostering infrastructure best practices across the organization to securely scale a distributed financial platform. The SRE team combines software and systems engineering to enhance security, reliability, and product delivery.Blockchain values individual freedom in proposing and implementing changes, emphasizing abstract thinking and effective tooling to eliminate toil. The Site Reliability Engineer will develop an in-depth understanding of product infrastructure needs, create engineering solutions to improve customer experience, and guide developer teams for rapid, secure, and scalable feature delivery.What this role involves:

• Evolving infrastructure to solve complex technical problems related to reliability, latency, bandwidth, and security.
• Improving observability, monitoring, and alerting throughout the platform.
• Coordinating work across different areas of the company for efficient execution.
• Centralizing common streams of work duplicated across developer teams.
• Writing tooling to replace manual, repetitive work in a scalable way.

What the candidate needs:

• Experience with containerization and service orchestration, including best practices and security.
• Strong knowledge of at least one programming language (Golang, Python, and Bash are a plus).
• Linux experience, including understanding of resource allocation, network, and/or internals.
• Experience working with cloud solutions (GCP or AWS).
• Deep understanding and experience with modern monitoring tools (Prometheus, Datadog, Grafana, Telegraf).
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools and configuration management tools.
• Experience with GitOps and CI, preferably Github Actions.
• Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka and database management.
