Senior Software Engineer - Crypto as a Service

Job Description

BitGo, a leading infrastructure provider of digital asset solutions, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Crypto as a Service Team. This role is based full-time onsite at their Toronto office.BitGo is building an API-first platform for businesses and developers to launch crypto products. The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable and robust APIs, libraries, and services.Responsibilities:

• Design and build scalable, well abstracted, and robust APIs, libraries, and services
• Own functionality and scalability features from inception to deployment
• Expose and document functionality to the UI, third-party developers, and internal tooling
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
• Implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers
• Provide mentorship to peers

Requirements:

• At least 6 years of back-end and server-side development experience
• Strong skills in algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis
• Strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js, Express, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
• Strong development experience with JVM languages (Kotlin or Java preferred)
• Experience with RESTful API design
• Experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures
• Experience with unit and functional testing and debugging
• Experience in Git/GitHub, branching methodologies, code review tools, and CI tools
• Ability to move quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or a related field
• Understanding of and strong interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain
