Software Engineer, Backend (AI Infrastructure)

Job Description

Motive is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join their AI Infrastructure team. In this role, the engineer will drive the execution of crucial infrastructure and platform initiatives related to AI/ML pipelines, focusing on efficient and scalable model training and inference. The engineer will be responsible for building and developing tools, automating redundant tasks, and implementing CI/CD systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong collaborative and growth mindset and will contribute to the career development of engineering team members.Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy MLOps infrastructure to improve the velocity of development and deployment of AI and deep learning models.
• Develop scalable cloud AI/ML pipelines for customer-facing inference and visualization services.
• Implement best MLOps practices relating to model development automation, evaluation, testing, and deployment.
• Address availability issues, scale pipelines, and improve features while maintaining SLAs on performance, reliability, and system availability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the development and delivery of end-to-end product features and robust AI pipelines.
• Mentor junior team members.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 1-3+ years experience in designing, implementing, and operating scalable software systems and services.
• Hands-on experience with MLOps tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Kubeflow, Spark, Airflow, AWS, CI/CD).
• Solid CS foundations including in data structures, algorithms and software engineering.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of computer vision, deep learning, machine learning, or statistical and predictive modeling is a plus.
