The ACLU is seeking a Temporary Organizing Strategist. This is a 9-month term position eligible for remote work in the United States. The National Political Advocacy Department aims to build power and achieve an accountable, representative democracy. The role involves collaboration across various departments to drive national efforts and support affiliate priorities, centering on equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

What role involves:
  • Designing and leading complex organizing strategies.
  • Assisting with research and analysis.
  • Developing organizing plans and budgets.
  • Deploying key organizing tactics such as phone banking, rallies, and social media engagement.
  • Collaborating with policy counsels and campaign strategists.
  • Tracking program progress through standardized reporting.
  • Overseeing volunteer recruitment, training, and mobilization.
  • Developing and implementing new volunteer team structures.


Requirements:
  • Senior-level experience in political, advocacy, or issue campaigns.
  • Proven success in grassroots organizing and volunteer management.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience with earned media strategies.
  • Ability to assess needs and recommend resource allocation.
  • Excellence in analyzing complex concepts.
  • Strong independent work ethic and team collaboration skills.
  • Superior analytical, writing, and organizational abilities.
  • Access to a major airport and ability to travel substantially.
