Job Description
Orchard is seeking a Senior Mortgage Underwriter to join their growing team. This role is responsible for ensuring loans meet GSE and internal requirements. The ideal candidate will work quickly and efficiently, maintaining quality and communication with internal partners. This is a full-time remote position reporting to the Senior Mortgage Operations Manager.
What This Role Involves:
- Review Conventional Mortgages and communicate loan decisions.
- Maintain turn times on mortgage applications.
- Maintain knowledge of underwriting guidelines and mortgage compliance.
- Mentor Loan Processors and provide solutions to Loan Officers.
- Provide administrative support to the underwriting department.
- Foster a team environment aligned with Orchard Values and Culture.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience underwriting conventional 1st mortgage loans.
- 2+ years of underwriting appraisals.
- 2+ years of underwriting Self Employed borrowers using a cash flow analysis.
- A DE from FHA and SARS with VA is required.
- Ability to manage and monitor your loan pipeline independently.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to quickly learn new technology systems.
- Experience working with Google Suites is helpful.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high production environment.
