Job Description

Orchard is seeking a Senior Mortgage Underwriter to join their growing team. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring loans meet GSE and internal requirements, working efficiently, and maintaining excellent communication with internal partners.This is a full-time remote position reporting to the Senior Mortgage Operations Manager. The role is open to candidates in AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, MI, NC, NV, NY, TN, TX, and WA.What this role involves:

• Reviewing Conventional Mortgages and communicating loan decisions.
• Maintaining turn times on mortgage applications.
• Staying current on underwriting guidelines and mortgage compliance.
• Mentoring Loan Processors and providing solutions to Loan Officers.
• Providing administrative support to the underwriting department.
• Fostering a team environment aligned with Orchard Values and Culture.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience underwriting conventional 1st mortgage loans.
• 2+ years of underwriting appraisals.
• 2+ years of underwriting Self Employed borrowers using a cash flow analysis.
• A DE from FHA and SARS with VA is required.
• Ability to manage and monitor your loan pipeline independently.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to quickly learn new technology systems.
• Experience working with Google Suites is helpful.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
