Job Description
Axon is seeking a Revenue Accountant to join their Commercial Controllership team. This role is based in Sterling, Virginia, and offers a hybrid work arrangement with 2 days on-site from various locations including Seattle, Boston, Denver, San Francisco, Scottsdale, Atlanta, or Sterling, VA. The Revenue Accountant will collaborate with Sales Operations to ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and yearly revenue reporting. The role involves:
- Reviewing and summarizing customer arrangements for proper revenue recognition.
- Preparing and booking journal entries for appropriate revenue and cost treatments.
- Identifying Multiple-Element Arrangements and performing revenue allocations.
- Interacting with the Sales team for pre- and post-sales support on revenue recognition.
- Performing monthly revenue-related tasks and analysis, including reconciliations.
- Ensuring the integrity of key processes and recommending improvements.
- Supporting internal and external audit activities, including SOX Compliance.
- Assisting with special projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Financial Accounting.
- CPA designation or ability to qualify preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of accounting and analysis experience, revenue experience a plus.
- Knowledge of ASC 606 compliance guidelines.
- Public accounting or revenue experience with a publicly-traded company desirable.
- Knowledge of accounting for Multiple-Element Arrangements.
- Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, planning, and organization skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team setting.
