Job Description
Axon is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer II to join their Global Quality team. This role is crucial in supporting the full product lifecycle, ensuring high-quality manufacturing processes and products that meet or exceed Axon’s standards and customer expectations. The Manufacturing Quality Engineer II will report to the Director of Manufacturing Quality and will be based onsite in either the Deer Valley or Scottsdale, Arizona offices.

Role involves:
  • Participating in the Axon Product Lifecycle (APL) process.
  • Leading nonconforming material review (NCMR/MRB).
  • Driving and managing 8D investigations and root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Developing and maintaining FAIRs, PPAP documentation, and AQL sampling plans.
  • Providing engineering support to Receiving Inspection.
  • Supporting new product introduction (NPI).
  • Performing risk assessment and drive risk mitigation.
  • Implementing and monitoring Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems.
  • Interfacing with manufacturing, engineering, and design teams.
  • Participating in internal and supplier audits.
  • Managing quality-related documentation.
  • Partnering with supply chain and procurement.
  • Supporting Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Communicating effectively across departments.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Quality Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in a production/manufacturing quality engineering role.
  • Experience with CAPA, RCA/8D, PPAP, FAIR, PFMEA, and validation activities.
  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt (CSSGB/CSSBB) or equivalent experience in process improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of IPC-A-610 and relevant industry standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools and statistical analysis software such as Minitab, JMP, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and inspection techniques.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and technical report writing skills.
  • Strong time management, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
