M&E Associate (Quantitative Research & Internal monitoring)

Karya is seeking a highly motivated M&E Associate to contribute to their mission of providing AI-enabled earning and learning opportunities to underserved communities. The M&E Associate will play a crucial role in quantitative research and internal monitoring activities.

The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to co-develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) at the input, activity, and output levels for various projects. They will also consolidate disparate datasets using Excel and other tools to ensure seamless data integration and basic visualization.

Role Involves:

• Supporting the design and development of socio-economic indices using unit-level datasets.
• Conducting statistical impact assessments using software such as R or Stata.
• Calculating and validating appropriate sample sizes for surveys and impact assessments.
• Designing survey tools tailored for social and development sector projects.
• Validating and triangulating survey data using robust methodologies.
• Combining qualitative and quantitative research approaches for comprehensive analysis.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to co-develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Consolidating disparate datasets using Excel and other tools.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related fields with at least 1 year of work experience.
• Prior experience working with unit-level datasets such as NFHS, PLFS, or similar.
• Previous experience in Monitoring and Evaluation, designing KPIs, impact estimation, and monitoring frameworks in development projects is preferred.
• Familiarity with SQL, strong Excel skills, and basic knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP) are desirable.
• Understanding of the broader development and social sector landscape, with a specific interest in poverty-related issues.
