Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Job Description

Corelight is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to help protect the world from cyber attacks. Corelight believes network-based cybersecurity is crucial, transforming network footprints into actionable insights for incident response and threat hunting. The SDET will design, develop, and utilize test frameworks and automation, defining and analyzing metrics to ensure software quality. The role involves collaboration with product developers and DevOps engineers to support the entire team.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the software testing expert in an Agile scrum team.
• Design and implement system testing suites for network security products.
• Manage the entire system testing process, including analysis, design, and execution of test plans and cases.
• Develop tools to set up/mimic customer environments for defect triage.
• Set up and certify sensor and logging infrastructure in various cloud environments.
• Test and set up Corelight cloud sensor deployment in AWS and GCP.

Requirements:

• 1+ years of professional experience creating test automation frameworks and tools.
• 2+ years of network security experience.
• 3+ years of professional coding experience in Python.
• Experience with Pytest, Behave, or equivalent testing tool in another programming environment.
• Proficiency with logging, data, and event management solutions like Splunk, Elastic/ELK, and Kafka.
• Proficiency with Virtual (VMware) or Cloud (AWS, GCE, Azure).
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or Container ecosystems.
• Expertise in Linux usage, including setup/configuration, operation, and monitoring system behavior and performance.
