Job Description
Backbase, a global leader in Engagement Banking, is seeking a Senior System Engineer to join their Platform team in Krakow. This role focuses on managing customer runtimes and ensuring the highest professional standards in cloud operations. The Senior System Engineer will design, implement, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure, guaranteeing availability, reliability, and security. They will also contribute to best practices, troubleshoot issues, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Backbase operates in a hybrid work model, requiring candidates to be based in Kraków.
What this role involves:
- Designing, implementing, and managing Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Guaranteeing the availability and reliability of managed hosting services.
- Implementing and contributing to cloud security, compliance, and disaster recovery.
- Ensuring cost-effective and secure solutions.
- Participating in an on-call pool.
- Troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure issues.
- Increasing operational efficiency and controlling cloud costs.
Requirements:
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure security and cloud-native technologies.
- Proficiency with tools like Helm Charts, Kubernetes, and Istio.
- Strong communication skills.
- At least 5 years of experience in system engineering, including 3 years with Azure cloud services.
- Experience with Terraform or OpenTofu.
- Focus on automation.
- Proven track record of designing scalable, highly-available cloud infrastructure.
- Excellent English communication skills.
