Job Description
Chemaxon, a cheminformatics software company, is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to join their core R&D team in Budapest. The ideal candidate will develop the chemical intelligence behind Chemaxon's products, working with chemical modeling, reaction handling, and algorithm-heavy workflows. This role involves maintaining existing code while modernizing it for the future.
Role involves:
- Working with a wide range of technologies in various areas.
- Ideation and concept creation, presenting ideas using communication & English skills.
- Becoming responsible for the team’s products, including technical support for clients.
Requirements:
- BSc or higher degree in Computer Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong Java knowledge.
- Good general programming background (OO design, TDD, design patterns, etc.).
- Experience with JUnit, Gradle, Git.
- Good command of English.
- Good work ethic, productive, proactive behavior.
- Ability to work in a team and solve problems independently.
- Willingness to work with a variety of technologies and learn continuously.
