Principal Systems Designer - Shared Services

Job Description

Workleap is seeking a Principal Systems Designer to spearhead the design and evolution of a unified design system across its product platforms, including Workleap Platform and ShareGate. This role involves leading the design direction, collaborating with a dedicated engineering team, and incorporating best-in-class design and UX practices. The Principal Systems Designer will focus on modernizing foundations, rethinking components, and improving tools and workflows to enable product teams to design and build faster without compromising quality.

The role involves:

• Defining and evolving the shared design system, including patterns, principles, components, and guidelines.
• Designing flexible, reusable, and inclusive solutions that scale across teams and platforms.
• Collaborating with developers to implement the system through tooling, documentation, and theming.
• Supporting designers across Workleap and ShareGate in adopting and utilizing the system effectively.
• Continuously improving workflows to enhance speed and design quality.
• Designing patterns and frameworks that support AI-powered features and new interaction models.
• Improving UX practices through feedback and collaboration.

Requirements:

• Deep experience in building and scaling design systems in multi-product environments.
• Expertise in interaction design, accessibility, and inclusive UI patterns.
• Strong collaboration skills with engineers.
• Proficiency in design tools like Figma and documentation.
• Passion for empowering others and simplifying complexity.
• Experience in mentoring and leading by example.
• Curiosity for emerging UX patterns, especially in AI-driven experiences.
• Excellent communication skills.
