Job Description
Altos Labs is seeking a Data Scientist to contribute to their mission of restoring cell health and resilience. The Data Scientist will work with cells, genomics, and related areas, focusing on generating insights and models from multi-omics datasets. This role involves designing and developing methods to analyze unstructured data, building databases, and extracting knowledge using statistical methods and machine learning.Responsibilities include:- Generating insights and models from multi-omics datasets.
- Designing and developing methods to analyze unstructured data.
- Building databases and curating data.
- Extracting knowledge using statistical methods and machine learning.
- Working with scientists to optimize data preparation and storage.
- Defining and documenting best practices for experimental metadata.
- Building pipelines for quality control and data analysis.
- Developing software programs and leveraging algorithms.
- Staying current with analytical methodologies and tools.
- Partnering with scientists to identify opportunities for data mining.
- Embedding analyses and visualizations in automated reports.
- PhD in a quantitative science (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Physics).
- 1-5 years (Scientist I/II) or 5+ years (Senior Scientist) of relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of cell biology and experience in large-scale data analysis.
- Proven track record of completed scientific projects.
- Strong expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, and programming (Python, R, etc.).
- Experience with Python, R data cleaning and data manipulation.
- Ability to generate high quality ideas and be self-driven to explore.
- Willingness to work in a collaborative environment.
- Experience working in an AWS compute environment.
- Experience integrating prior knowledge from public databases into omics data analysis pipelines.
