Senior Staff Engineer - Public Cloud Database Administration (AWS/Alibaba)

Job Description

OKX is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to manage enterprise-level cloud database platforms. The candidate will be responsible for the design, deployment, optimization, and full lifecycle management of databases on Alibaba Cloud and AWS. This role involves leading the implementation of multi-cloud architectures, ensuring high availability, performance, and cost optimization.OKX is a leading crypto exchange committed to reshaping the future through crypto and providing access to crypto trading and decentralized applications.What this role involves:

• Designing and optimizing cloud databases on Alibaba Cloud and AWS.
• Implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
• Monitoring database performance and health using cloud-native and third-party tools.
• Analyzing slow queries and optimizing SQL statements.
• Managing database access controls and ensuring data security.
• Automating database deployment and operations.
• Supporting development teams in database design reviews.

Requirements:

• Expertise in database services of at least one major public cloud (Alibaba Cloud or AWS).
• In-depth understanding of core principles of mainstream databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis).
• Experience with database migration tools and cross-cloud synchronization solutions.
• 5+ years of DBA experience, including at least 2 years managing public cloud databases.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale databases, sharding, and read/write splitting.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
