Job Description
Garner Health is seeking a Director of Pricing to lead the pricing strategy and algorithms for its business. This role reports to the Head of Finance and is fully remote. Garner has experienced rapid growth, more than doubling its revenue annually, and is recognized as a top workplace. The company is dedicated to reshaping the healthcare economy by providing organizations relief from surging healthcare costs.
What this role involves:
- Conducting in-depth quantitative research into healthcare insurance markets and Garner's product history.
- Owning Garner’s rates, margin profile, and financial risk in the market for all new business and renewed clients.
- Managing policies related to pricing exceptions, pricing concessions, and performance guarantees.
- Maintaining and scoping improvements to tooling for quoting or renewals.
- Building, maintaining, and improving complex pricing models for our SAAS and financial risk products.
- Building ad-hoc pricing models to help inform product decisions and systematizing these models to deliver consistent outcomes.
- Benchmarking to the competitive landscape to understand how our pricing compares.
- Managing, developing, motivating, and retaining a team of operations analysts.
Requirements:
- 6-10+ years of experience in a strategic problem-solving role (management consulting, investment banking, or an early-stage startup).
- Ability to build and maintain complex data-driven models.
- Ability to think in principles and frameworks to understand complex, abstract problems.
- A willingness to “roll up your sleeves”.
- Experience working in a rapidly evolving startup environment.
