Job Description

Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Tools, Framework and Infrastructure team at PlayStation. This role focuses on building test tools, frameworks, and infrastructure to ensure the high quality of PlayStation consoles and peripherals. The Software Engineer will work on automating test workflows and validating Bluetooth and USB-connected devices across various platforms and OS environments. Collaboration with Quality Engineering, Software Engineering, Firmware, and Embedded Systems teams is essential to create a robust test environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain test frameworks, tooling, and infrastructure for PlayStation consoles and peripherals.
  • Develop test frameworks and tools for device-level and headless test validation.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
  • Implement infrastructure to manage physical lab and HIL setups.
  • Interface with Bluetooth and USB protocol analyzers and verify spec-level compliance.
  • Create test tools for measuring audio latency, button latency, battery behavior, and power consumption.
  • Build tools and dashboards to analyze device behavior and log data from testing platforms.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • 2+ years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining tools and applications in Python, JavaScript, C, or C++.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Appium, Mocha.js, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of device-level testing, hardware/software integration, or low-level debugging.
  • Experience with testing audio peripherals or input devices.
  • Strong understanding of connectivity testing with USB, Bluetooth, or wireless protocols.
  • Knowledge of test frameworks and tools for USB/Bluetooth device validation.
  • Comfortable working in Linux and Windows-based development environments.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
