Job Description
Adyen is seeking a Privacy Counsel to join its Data Privacy team in New York. Adyen is the financial technology platform of choice for leading companies like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, as well as pragmatic and strategic thinking, to advise internal and external stakeholders on privacy matters.

Role involves:
  • Strengthening Adyen’s global data privacy compliance framework.
  • Providing strategic privacy advice on a wide range of matters.
  • Anticipating and identifying data protection obligations and risks.
  • Implementing practical and scalable privacy procedures.
  • Educating stakeholders on privacy obligations.
  • Keeping track of new legislative proposals and other legal and compliance developments regarding privacy across the globe.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of data privacy experience (including GDPR).
  • Experience in commercial negotiations, strengthening compliance frameworks, vendor assessments, incident management, data transfers, data protection impact assessments and privacy by design.
  • Experience with financial services and or tech companies.
  • Experience educating others on complex ideas.
  • Ability to structure and prioritize in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work from our New York office and travel to other offices periodically.
