Job Description
Axon is seeking a Manager for Site Reliability Engineering (IaC) to lead efforts in transforming its Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices. This role involves driving consistency, reliability, and speed across Axon's cloud platforms. The Engineering Manager will own the development of IaC standards, best practices, and delivery pipelines, enabling teams to build and scale infrastructure safely and efficiently. With a platform-first mindset, the role champions automation in infrastructure delivery, reducing manual toil and accelerating the path to full infrastructure automation.

What This Role Involves:
  • Leading a team of experienced engineers focused on building a fast, reliable, and scalable infrastructure delivery pipeline.
  • Championing and enforcing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices and coding standards.
  • Leading the technical direction of the team through architectural discussions.
  • Driving the execution of your team by leading planning, prioritization, stand-ups, and team retro meetings.
  • Leading large scale projects that impact multiple engineering teams.
  • Working with product managers, senior engineers, and client teams to get ‘ahead of the curve' and explore new opportunities.
  • Joining forces with recruiting to hire a top-notch engineering team.
  • Managing engineers and their careers with 1:1s and performance reviews.

What We Are Looking For:
  • 8+ years of applicable experience and 3+ as a manager
  • A track record of planning and delivering on multiple overlapping projects spanning several months
  • Strong experience with Terraform, Terragrunt and CI/CD
  • Experience managing cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or similar.
  • Experience with Crossplane or Pulumi would be a plus
  • Experience using managed languages such as Go and Python or similar
  • Experience operating in Kubernetes platforms like AKS, EKS, or similar.
  • Empathy to support the needs of software engineers.
