Job Description
Reddit is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join its Growth - Onboarding Engineering team. This role is focused on driving user growth, engagement, and retention across the Reddit platform. The Senior Engineer will shape the architecture and strategic direction of onboarding experiences, including personalized recommendations, sign-up flows, and A/B testing. Reddit has a flexible workforce and this role can be performed remotely within the United States.

Responsibilities:
  • Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code.
  • Drive strategic engineering initiatives.
  • Define, design, and implement impactful experiments.
  • Leverage data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to architectural decisions.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer with recent experience in a Senior role
  • Experience executing on large scale projects from 0 to 1
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement complex architectures.
  • Deep understanding of backend technologies, including Golang, distributed systems, and databases.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with A/B testing frameworks and experimentation platforms.
