Job Description
Reddit is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their Tech PMO team. This role focuses on internal systems and requires a strong background in distributed systems and software development. The Senior Backend Engineer will be responsible for leading technical decisions, working cross-functionally with other teams, and contributing to the full development cycle. Reddit has a flexible workforce and this role can be performed remotely within the United States.Responsibilities include:
- Leading key technical and design decisions
- Working cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams
- Contributing to the full development cycle
- Contributing meaningfully to team strategy
- Participating with a team of thoughtful, fast-moving, and motivated engineers
- Contributing to standards that improve developer workflows
- Balancing speed with quality
Requirements include:
- BS degree in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years of experience in large-scale distributed systems
- 8+ years of software development experience in Go or Python
- Experience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, Thrift
- Experience with system integrations
- Track record of developing scalable and reliable systems
- Strong organizational and communication skills
