Job Description
Reddit is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their Tech PMO team. This role focuses on internal systems and requires a strong background in distributed systems and software development. The Senior Backend Engineer will be responsible for leading technical decisions, working cross-functionally with other teams, and contributing to the full development cycle. Reddit has a flexible workforce and this role can be performed remotely within the United States.Responsibilities include:
  • Leading key technical and design decisions
  • Working cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams
  • Contributing to the full development cycle
  • Contributing meaningfully to team strategy
  • Participating with a team of thoughtful, fast-moving, and motivated engineers
  • Contributing to standards that improve developer workflows
  • Balancing speed with quality
Requirements include:
  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in large-scale distributed systems
  • 8+ years of software development experience in Go or Python
  • Experience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, Thrift
  • Experience with system integrations
  • Track record of developing scalable and reliable systems
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
