Science Corporation is seeking an Animal Care Technician and NHP Trainer to join their research team. This role involves establishing and scaling a focused research program, working with scientists and engineers. Responsibilities: - Perform routine animal husbandry tasks including feeding, cleaning, and health monitoring.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation.
- Ensure optimal animal care environments through systematic facility maintenance.
- Conduct behavioral assessments and maintain comprehensive behavioral records for NHPs.
- Develop behavioral management plans for individual animals and social groups.
- Monitor and address abnormal behaviors through intervention strategies.
- Support behavior studies through data collection and collaboration with research teams.
Requirements: - Minimum 2 years of hands-on NHP experience.
- Strong knowledge of primate behavior, social dynamics, and species-specific needs.
- Working knowledge of hygienic principles and animal husbandry practices.
- Familiarity with federal regulations (AWA, PHS Policy, USDA, OSHA).
- Understanding of "Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals" principles.
- Ability to understand and follow facility SOPs.
- Proficiency in reading English and numerical data.
- Basic computer skills for database entry.
- Ability to work in an animal research environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver 500-pound cage racks.
- Comfortable working in continuous contact with research animals.
- Available to work a combination of weekday and weekend shifts.
